rough sketch for exhibition at UnionDocs, Brooklyn, NYC.

The days are flying by - Four members (Aine Ivers, Susan Thomson, myself & Jessamyn Fiore) of The Writing Workshop are about to embark on an adventure, exhibiting work in Williamsberg, Brooklyn, New York City. The space has been nailed down by Jessamyn for us, UnionDocs it’s called, and an exciting looking spot it is too. Very much looking forward to meeting some people there & getting the opportunity to share our work & get feedback. A big thanks to Culture Ireland & thisisnotashop for supporting this project - The Writing Workshop in New York City!

The sketch above is a rough guesstimate at this moment in time of how I might present my film/audio installation - it will run for 2 hours & I’ll be active for those hours loading & rewinding the films as they play - it will be quite trance like I hope… those projectors make a hell of a lot of noise. For one, For all the work is tentatively called - it’s a kind of a strained attempt to generate in myself some kind of understanding of democracy in relation to personal & private experiences… I think…

We’ll be running a couple of Workshops at P.S.1 Contemporary Art Centre, and the exhibition/events at UnionDocs will take place from Thursday 8th April to Saturday 10th April. If anyone is heading stateside please do come & check out the work & the workshops.
